Garden State Episcopal Community Development Corporation is a twenty-nine-year-old nonprofit organization with the goal of building strong communities. Its programming includes affordable housing development, social services and supportive housing, as well as management of the PERC (Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation) Shelter in Union City, NJ. In February 2014, GSECDC launched the Homeless Coordinated Point of Entry Program which serves all homeless individuals and families in the Hudson County region with the primary goal of assisting them with locating and securing permanent affordable housing.
Since 1989, Covenant House New Jersey has been providing food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless, runaway and trafficked youth between the ages of 18-21. In 2011, Covenant House launched a street outreach program and opened a drop-in center in Jersey City to address the needs of homeless youth in the community.
