Tonight LA touring Band, psych-pop Gothic Tropic stops off at Lucky’s for a home state session, touring mates, Brooklyn’s synth wave Life Sized Maps closes the night. Dont be late things start at eight [ish] . This Saturday catch me at Porta for my monthly Last Saturday Night dance party. If you own a calendar, mark off every fourth Saturday. I’m going to prep my day up with the Jersey City Record Riot at Grove Street PATH, The Riverview Jazz Festival Fundraiser Une Soiree d’Avril, and the Comedy Roasting of Juan Cartagena from Segunda Quimbamba at Barrow Mansion. Afterwards, I’m going to roll over to Lucky’s for DJ Sup Babes filling in for Motorfunker. On Sunday, I’ll be up at the Historic JC and Harsimus Cemetery for a Celebrate Mother Earth : Welcome the Goats Festival besides live Goats, Eco-Friendly activities, tours and food and drink, we are hosting live music all day, in fact here’s the schedule to 12:30 McNair H.S. Chorus , 1 pm Katja Larssen, 1:50 pm Sensational Country Blue Wonders, 2:40 pm Bitterheart, 3:30 pm Karen Kuhl Band,. 4:20 pm NIPSEY, 5:10 pm Hong Kong Graffitti, 6:00 pm Blue Skeleton, 6:50 pm Fiscal Cliff this event is a fundraiser for the cemetery as well as the farm where our eco-friendly landscaping goats come from. $10 suggested donation. This will be the first outdoor show of my season, Groove on Grove debuts on Wed May 6th with Nimbus Dance Works, Segunda Quimbamba and the One and Nines, On Saturday May 16th we’ll return to the cemetery for Pushing Up the Daisies with Rock N Roll Hi-Fives, Miss Ohio, Higgins, Cold Fur, Cicada Radio, Black Wail, and Hey Anna and many more bands to come.
If you like your music indoors, but like the outdoors make sure to check out The Union Republic of Bluegrass every Wednesday. Things start out at 8 pm with Dan O’Dea and Eagle Ridge along with a guest performer, after 10 pm it’s a jamboree for musicians to join in bring your banjo! And after 8 pm there are $5 beers, $8 wines and $10 cocktails.
