We’ve got a nice full week of music in Jersey City, Things start out for me tonight with a Such Great Heights Showcase at Groove on Grove, showcasing yes you guessed it 3 great bands from the Heights. Tonight welcome Twiddlin’ Thumbs /\ Sea of Otters /\ Hudson City Rats, and roll up a sleeve, the NY Blood Mobile is looking for donations. Tonight also marks the beginning of La Festa Italiana in Jersey City. Running for over 100 years, the Five-day festival runs from Wednesday to Sunday with plenty music, wine, calamari, 50/50’s, cannolis, and rice balls [actaully there are a limited amount of Rice Balls] Make your way down slowly down 6th Street and you can eat everything Buono Mangiata ! On Thursday, my cousin Vito from Sicily will be handing Ladies Night at Lucky’s.

On Saturday, take things to the highest level with the Second Annual Rooftopper at Porta. This eight-band all-ages music festival [yes i know there isn’t camping] starts at 3pm and runs all day long. With Hot bands – cool drinks- and special pies you should Get DOWNtown and Get UPstairs. Here’s the line-up 3:30 the Killians /\4:20 David Spegasus /\ 5:10 Din /\ 6:00 Drum and a Tantrum /\ 6:50 Debra Devi /\ 7:40 WYLAND /\ 8:30 Adam and the Plants /\9:20 Sharkmuffin. This is a FREE show, but we will gladly accept a $5 donation to help the Jersey City Art Exchange. After party starts around midnight downstairs. DJ Nikki Mixx spins at Lucky’s.
