I’m already three moped rides deep into May and things are springing up all over Jersey City. After a great debut of Grove on Grove last week, today’s weather [from my window] looks great for this evening’s Mulberry Sound Recordings Showcase with ChachaBacha, Professor Caveman, Kadian Quartet and the Anabel Trio. Come out and check out JC’s up and coming. Mulberry Sound Recording celebrates The Sound of Spring in New Brunswick at the end of this month, as does Tierney’s on May 30th with their second annual Music Festival.

Tomorrow Night, Superchunk and Merge Records Frontman Mac McCaughan plays WFMU’s Monty Hall. many of you know I have traveled far and wide to see this man play as well as to set up Kickball games in North Carolina, I can’t be more thrilled to have Mac in play my hometown. Mac has a thing for wanting to know girls . And after the show, I’ll be with lower case p [Paul Little] at Lucky’s for an A to Z countdown of sounds about ladies [still looking for a song about Mallory].
